Amigurumi Kitty Free Pattern

This pattern is NOT all done in a spiral, I work my patterns in-the-round mainly. It CAN be done in a spiral, but body and head may be uneven.

Gauge is NOT necessary for this pattern-- but for reference, I'm using regular worsted weight with a 5.00mm (H) aluminum hook.
Pattern written only in US terms

Base:
Starting with Color 1
1: 6sc in magic ring
2: 2 sc in each sc around (12)
3: *sc-inc, sc next sc* around (18)
4: *sc-inc, sc next 2 sc* around (24)
5-6: Sc in each sc around (24)

·        If making multicolor, F/O color 1 and begin with color 2. If not, continue with color 1

7-8: sc in each sc around (24)
9: * sc-dec, sc next 2 sc* around (18)
10-11: sc in each sc around (18)

For multicolor, f/o color 2 and continue with color 1
12: sc in each sc around (18)
13: *sc-dec, sc next sc* around (12)
Stuffing is easier before round 14. If desired, stuff firmly
14: sc-dec around (6)
Head begins with round 15
15: sc-inc in each sc around (12)
16: *sc-inc, sc next sc* around (18)
17-19: sc in each sc around
20: *sc-inc, sc next 2 sc* around
21-22:  sc in each sc around
F/O, leaving long tail for sewing

I sewed the head shut with a whip stitch straight across. Optionally, stitch diagonally where desired ears begin for a more ear-like appearance. Then weave in all ends

Legs (make 4) with either color, can be done in a spiral OR in-the-round

1: 6 sc in magic ring
2-3: sc in each sc around
F/O, leaving tail for sewing. Legs do not need to be stuffed

  • Tail (If multicolor, I use color 2 for the tail.) -- Tail is done in a spiral
1: 3 sc in magic ring (3)
2: sc-inc, sc next sc, sc-inc (5)
3: sc-dec, sc next sc, sc-inc, sc next sc (5)
4-8: sc in each sc around
Add or remove as many sc rows as desired!
F/O, leaving long tail for sewing

Sew legs onto body as shown in image. Sew tail onto cat tush. Weave in any loose ends. You can embroider the eyes like I did or use safety eyes/felt- whatever suits you. I embroidered the nose as well :)

Enjoy your kitty!
